Maddie, a 4-year-old shih tzu who was rescued from the decrepit basement of an Endwell home last year, has found a home with Binghamton resident Vicki Griffin. Buy Photo Maddie is not the same shih tzu she was a year ago.
In July 2015, Maddie was trapped with 21 other dogs in a squalid Endwell basement. When Vicki Griffin brought the dog home that fall after adopting her from the Broome County Humane Society, Maddie was fearful and timid. She preferred solitude in her covered crate over romping inside and outside the house.
Now, Maddie is energetic with a vibrant personality, and she’s found just the right fit with her new family.
